She has worked in Education for 15 years mostly as a Math Teacher but currently as a School Counselor. She believes the more we accept challenges as learning opportunities the more resilient we become. Nita has over 10,000 hours practicing resilience so, according to Malcom Gladwell's 10,000 rule, she is an expert! Her joy is sharing her expertise by teaching Middle school students resiliency skills to help give them hope in the future. Nita has also taught mental health strategies to cancer patients and their families, adults with eating disorders, professionals in the fields of business and pharmaceuticals, and she does her best to model strong mental health skills for her two kids. Nita has a Bachelors in Science from Utah State University and a Masters in Education with an emphasis in School Counseling from Utah Valley University. She is now working towards her Masters in Science through UVU’s CMHC Program. She volunteers at a women's addiction recovery shelter, as a United Way Presenter, and in her church.
